The more things change.....

....the more they stay the same. What changed this week was the leadership of the Senate. Brother "Dirty Harry" Reid was elected leader of the Democratic Majority in the Senate, making him also the Senate Majority Leader (duh!) and the first member of the LDS Church ever to serve in that capacity. As a member of the LDS Church, I should be proud of this accomplishment, but as I pointed out here and here, I find Brother Reid to be a bad example of the teachings of the LDS Church and have no desire to be linked to him in any way.

What stayed the same was Brother "Dirty Harry" Reid's problems with conflicts of interest. From the AP, here is a report on funding for a bridge between Nevada and Arizona that Brother Reid backed which was close to his land and which would have naturally affected the value of the aforementioned land in a positive manner (the value would have gone up. Duh!). Well, seeing how many of the other Senate Majority Leaders had "ethical" problems, it's only natural that Brother Reid have the same problems. The more things change, the more things stay the same.
