Let the Retreat Commence!
The Iraq study group has issued it's report (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061207/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_iraq) and it came out with what everyone thought it would, declaring victory a la Vietnam and getting the *blank* out of Dodge. Although it was touted as "bi-partisan" because of the five Republicans and five Democrats on the panel, in reality, "bi-partisan" really means that there was five Democrats, 3 to 4 liberal-to-moderate Republicans and maybe one true Republican.
What I thought was interesting was that it recommended a troup pull-out date of 2008, which, miracle-of-miracles, means that future President Harpy won't have to worry about this when she becomes president since we all know what light-weights the Klintons are when it comes to foreign policy. Or maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions.
Anyway, the liberals have always said that Iraq was another Vietnam and now we have a "do-it-yourself" guide on how to accomplish that. The more things change, the more things stay the same.....
