This day in history, 1805

I can't believe I scooped El-ahrairah on this one. The Battle of Trafalgar took place 200 years ago on this date.

I don't have much time to go into detail, so maybe ol' El can make up for his oversight and provide the history of the battle that established Britain as the pre-eminent naval power for the following century, until it was eclipsed by the United States.

Actually, I wrote something about it a year ago. It wasn't very long at the time, but I did generate something, so you really didn't "scoop" me. Anyway, I was thinking about writing something a bit longer this year, but I got side tracked since I just got back from northern Italy to see my wife's family, take a side trip to the Dolomites and eat some various regional speciaties (my wife's aunt makes killer gnocchi). Anyway, I guess my honor is at stake, so I had better get off my hind end and produce!
