"That was TOTALLY WICKED!"
Went to see the movie "Serenity" tonight. Pretty cool. I wasn't familiar with Joss Whedon before, but I sure am now.
For those who are not familiar, think of a cool mix of kung-fu and sci-fi, with some Omega Man and Aliens thrown in.
Go see it.

Just saw it for the second time last night. How could you overlook the Western element? "Firefly" was described as a sci-fi western, and it definitely was that -- a cowboy movie set against a sci-fi backdrop.
And you're SO right about how good it is.
You can get the boxed DVD set of "Firefly" for about 35 bucks. And if you fork that over, you can see just how badly Fox screwed the pooch when they had this show, and abused it horribly before killing it. Whedon has vowed to NEVER work with Fox again.
(Short version: rejected the pilot that set everything up, demanded a new action-filled one, played the episodes out of order (the original pilot was the LAST aired), cancelled it with three episodes still unaired.)

Rats!!!! I want to see Serenity. When I was in I-Wack earlier this year, I was able to watch the DVDs and I really liked them.. I hope i passes soon here so I can go see it before leaving civiliazation for that arabian armpit.
oh, if you aren't familiar with Josh Wheddon, he also did the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I never really liked Buffy because is wasn't all that believable but I really did like Angel because it was much more beleivable. Yes, I know that that last sentence doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but hey, what do you expect froma rabbit?
